Uncertainties in a Bustling world

I do, at times much more infrequent than before, go up and down and back and forth with ideas, decisions, and thoughts. They are slight paradoxes and in coming to terms and understanding the wonderful notion of the paradox, it has brought me peace in the midst of seeing all sides to things. I don't see a clear 'right' and 'wrong', or 'yes' and 'no' in anything. There are so many elements to everything with an existence or an entity. Yet at the same time these complexities can eventually become to be seen as something so simple and essential. So, I ask, what is the point of all of these complexities if the Essence is constant and unchanged and the origin of all things? Can we not handle something so pure? Can we only understand it through its shadows? Now, I ask these questions, not because I do not wish to take part in digging through all the dirt to find the buried treasure, but because I am trying to map out the many directions and methods one can take and use to endeavour to do such a thing. I find it be crucial to question such things before changing either direction or method, or both. However, if one is aware of all the singular complexities that attempt to form into a simple unity, than simplicity can be found in everything. Clarity can ensue without struggle. This can only be done through awareness, and struggle. Pain. Dissonance. I don't see another alternative. You need to get lost to eventually realise perhaps that it doesn't necessarily matter which direction you take. If your purpose is unwavering, you will arrive. I could dig with a spoon or I could dig with a shovel. Time is relative. The two distinct methods bring forth different experiences. They all reflect something greater. They all represent motion- a prime force in moving the Energy of the self to fuse with the Energy of something beyond the self.

What is harm? How is harm done to ourselves? It is a strange concept: Harm. It comes from the Old Norse 'harmr', or grief. It's a noun and a verb. One can cause it and one can receive it. It can be physical, mental, or spiritual. One definition is written as such: "moral evil or wrongdoing." Another is, "physical or mental injury or damage." How do we mentally damage ourselves? We certainly can physically damage ourselves, so then we also have the capacity to damage ourselves mentally and spiritually. Can we avoid harm if we see all sides to things? Can one thing mentally harm one individual but cannot waver another's state? What are our mental shields? Why is that I do not feel that I have been harmed? Fire can produce the essence of life- light, yet also burn and harm and destroy. This is a paradox. There are many sides to fire depending on your relation with it, intention with it, and position to it. Fire can be considered harmful, yet the use of it has been the birth of a host of discoveries. Harm has a direction too, then. We can be in harm's way or out of harm's way.

I must let these thoughts remain as such for now. Will return to them after, uncertain at which time.
